The whole ethos of Word Doctor is about inclusion, ensuring that no one is put at a disadvantage for any reason, whatever their background or circumstances.
As a sole trader, there are no opportunities to promote this policy in terms of recruitment, but everything I do involves communication with others and interaction with clients and their stakeholders, so I make sure:
- I treat everyone fairly and with respect
- if I see or suspect bullying or harrassment in the course of my work with or for clients or their stakeholders, I report it to the relevant managers
- I use fair trade products whenever I can
- I do charity work for local community groups
- I take care to make sure my written work is easy to understand
- I make sure I understand clients’ policies and abide by them
- I strive to understand the needs and barriers affecting clients' stakeholders
- I follow the advice provided by Equality North East and other appropriate bodies.
